About me
I am a Cuban-born Engineering Manager based in Berlin, currently leading mobile engineering at Verve Group . Over the past decade, I have built and scaled mobile products across Belgium and Germany, growing from developer to Head of Mobile and leading teams responsible for high-impact consumer applications.
My professional journey began in Havana, where I studied Software Engineering and later taught courses in Android Development, Computer Architecture, Mathematical Statistics, and Object-Oriented Programming . Before moving to Europe, I also led a mobile technologies research project focused on encrypted communication protocols and VoIP systems — an early exposure to systems design, security, and distributed thinking.
In Europe, I worked in Brussels and Berlin across marketplaces, media platforms, and large-scale mobile products. At Kapaza, one of Belgium’s leading marketplace platforms, I contributed to the evolution of a top-used consumer app . Later at PubNative (now Verve Group), I helped scale the mobile organization and oversaw the development of apps that reached millions of users.
My background in competitive programming — including multiple national finals and a Caribbean regional final in the ACM-ICPC — shaped how I think: structurally, analytically, and with an emphasis on systems rather than isolated problems.
Why This Blog Exists
Technology taught me to think in systems.
But systems do not only exist in software.
Markets are systems.
Geopolitics is a system of incentives.
Cities are systems of capital and culture.
Restaurants are micro-economies.
Travel reveals structural differences between societies.
Eros On The World is where I explore those systems.
Here you’ll find opinions on:
- Finance and capital allocation
- Geopolitical power dynamics
- Economic structures
- Gastronomy through an economic lens
- Travel as infrastructure and culture
I approach these topics the same way I approach engineering:
by looking at incentives, constraints, second-order effects, and long-term consequences.
A Global Perspective
Growing up in Cuba, moving to Belgium, and building a life in Germany has given me a layered view of the world. I’ve experienced centrally planned economies, European institutions, and globalized tech ecosystems.
That perspective influences how I think about:
- Capital flows
- Political stability
- Innovation
- Productivity
- Cultural evolution
Traveling, food, and sport are not hobbies to me — they are lenses through which societies reveal themselves.

What You Can Expect
This is not a lifestyle blog.
It is a thinking space.
I aim to write structured, well-argued essays that connect technology, capital, power, and culture. Some articles will be analytical deep dives. Others will be sharper opinion pieces. Over time, I will also publish frameworks and structured breakdowns for readers who want to think more clearly about complex systems.
If you value structured thinking applied beyond software, you’re in the right place.
